These are the answers to some of our most frequently asked questions. If you can't find the information you are looking for here, please contact our Technical Support Team. Please note that we cannot be held responsible for any changes or modifications you may make to your PC's system files.

  • Q. What is the minimum equipment I need to run KAZ Keyboard A-Z ?

    A. To run KAZ Keyboard A-Z version 17 or newer on a PC, you will need a Windows PC with a Pentium 166MHz processor or greater, 32MB RAM or higher, 60MB of free disk space and a 2 X CD-ROM Drive or higher. If you want to run KAZ version 17 or newer with sound, you will also need a Sound card and speakers or headphones. Versions with and without sound are included on the CD-ROM. You must be running Windows 95/98, 2000, 2003, ME, XP, NT or Windows 10, 8, 7.


    To run KAZ Keyboard A-Z version 17 or newer on an Apple Mac, you will need a 160MHz Power Mac with a CD-ROM drive, Mac OS 8.1 or higher, 60MB of free disk space and 16MB of free RAM . Note that your installed RAM will need to be much larger to allow for the Mac OS - click the desktop and see About this Computer on the Apple menu to discover your free RAM. Also note that virtual memory should be disregarded when determining your available free RAM. KAZ version 17 or newer will also run on any Power PC Mac running up to OS X Mountain Lion and now OS X Yosemite.

  • Q. I don't have a sound card on my PC - what do I do ?

    A. Whether you purchase the KAZ CD, KAZ software download or KAZ Online access, you can choose one of two options: 'KAZ With Sound' or 'KAZ Text Version'. Make sure you choose the right option to suit your needs.

  • Q. KAZ seems to be running very slowly on my PC - why ?

    A. Have you checked the minimum specification for a PC? (See answer to Q1)

  • Q. I'm having problems logging onto the Online server.

    A. Please check that you are entering your email address and password correctly. The password is case sensitive. If in doubt, use copy and paste.

  • Q. I have a CDROM but my program won't work?

    A. Even if already loaded, the CD needs to be in the drive when using KAZ.

  • Q. The URL which was sent to me is not working. How can I access the program?

    A. Use our website to access the program. You will find the logon button on the home page. Whist there, have a look around our website and keep up to date with what's happening at KAZ.

  • Q. My online access is due to expire and I wish to renew.

    A. No problem, send us an email before it expires and we will email you back with a discount code, which you can use when re-purchasing KAZ.

  • Q. My computer crashed and i have lost my KAZ download which I purchased recently and my activation details - what should I do?

    A. If you have purchased KAZ within the last 12 months - please send us an email with your name and address, date of purchase, activation email/code and we will reset your download. In certain circumstances you may need to un-install any previous versions of KAZ software first. We will send you links to re-download the software.

  • Q. My computer crashed and i have lost my KAZ download which I purchased over a year ago - what should I do?

    A. Please purchase a re-activation key via our 're-activation' button in our web shop and send us as much information as possible (name and address at time of purchase, activation email and any email links you may have).

  • Q. I need to re-download my KAZ software - what should I do?

    A. If you purchased KAZ prior to November 20th 2015 please click on this link:- www.kaz-type.com/getmysoftware/index.asp If you purchased KAZ after this date please login to 'My Account' in the KAZ shop, follow the links to the download tab and re-download your software.

  • Q. Which browser do you recommend for using the KAZ software?

    A. For the best user experience we suggest Chrome (PC and Mac). Firefox will need the VLC plugin enabled.

  • Q. Why does KAZ not work on all browsers?

    A. With some browsers there is a Javascript incompatibility.
